  • Jim's homemade pizza. My sons always like the same thing on their third: one only likes pepperoni, and the other only wants mushrooms and broccoli. Boring. I get creative on my third. I usually start with anchovies and mushrooms. This one also has fresh garlic cloves. I usually finish with something bizarre to horrify my kids. In this case it is a little clown face made from a marshmallow, with chocolate chips for eyes and nose, carrots for Bozo hair, and a raspberry for the mouth. This is before cooking. Bozo melted a bit from cooking, but he is still recognizable in the "after" picture in my gallery.

You can see it better in the "before" picture in my gallery.
  • Jim's homemade pizza. Usually we make one large 14" pie divided in thirds, but sometimes we use a double batch of dough and make three individual 10" mini-pizzas. This one is broccoli and mushrooms, my oldest son's favorite and his standard order, before cooking. You can see the "after" picture right out of the oven in my gallery.

This one is broccoli and mushrooms, my oldest son's favorite and his standard order, right out of the oven. I cook my pizza on a well heated stone at 400 degrees for 14 minutes. I learned from experience that the broccoli needs time to cook, so hotter temperatures and shorter cooking time didn't work. You can see the "before" picture in my gallery.

  • Jim's homemade pizza. This is my 13-cheese pizza. That's right, 13 different cheeses on this mini pizza. I have to admit the idea and execution was better than the final result, but you never know if you don't try. Starting at 12:00 outside edge, going clockwise: Gjetost (Norwegian brown goat cheese), blue cheese, American, cheddar with peppers, cream cheese, yellow sharp cheddar, white cheddar, pepperjack. Inner ring, 12:00: Locatelli Romano, Feta, Parmesan, mozzarella. Triangle of Laughing Cow in the middle. The shredded cheese on the pizza is a mix of mozzarella and Mexican blend, which is mostly cheddar. There are also mushrooms on this pizza. This is before cooking. Check my gallery for the "after." Some of the cheese didn't melt very well. This was definitely one of my more bizarre and ultimately unsuccessful attempts at creative pizza making.
